The so-called "Big Beautiful Bill"

Last week, on July 4, 2025, President Trump signed a new bill that changes many parts of the immigration system. It is a very large bill that also includes changes to taxes and spending, but we are focusing on the parts that affect immigrants and families.
As an immigration law firm, we want to be clear: we do not agree with the goals or the message of this new bill. We believe in protecting immigrant rights and treating every person with dignity. At the same time, we know that many people are scared and confused, and we want you to know that we are here to help and support you.

What’s in the Law?
Here are the most important immigration changes in this new law:
1. More money for immigration enforcement
The government is giving a lot more money to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Border Patrol.
They will hire thousands of new officers and build new jails to hold people who are detained.
The goal of the administration is to deport up to one million people per year.
2. Bigger and more detention centers
The number of people who can be locked up in immigration detention will more than triple.
This means many more people could be arrested, detained, and removed very quickly.
3. New fines and fees for immigrants
The law creates new costs for immigrants. If you are applying for a visa, green card, or any immigration benefit, you may have to pay more.
It also allows the government to charge heavy fines for people who are undocumented or who violate immigration rules.
4. More power to deport and remove people quickly
The law makes it easier for the government to deport people without giving them a chance to see a judge.
It also allows the government to try to take away U.S. citizenship from people who are accused of serious crimes or national security concerns.
Our Firm’s Position
We do not support these changes. We believe they are unfair, harmful, and unnecessary. Many of these rules will hurt families, cause fear, and create confusion.
But we want to say this clearly: We are here for you. You are not alone.
We will continue to:
Protect your rights
Fight for your future
Give you honest advice
Help you prepare for what’s next
